2012 Maya boundary date and beginning of the Age of Aquarius                cosmomyth.com

The 2012 Maya terminal date is a hoax. The conference of Maya Elders held in Antigua, Guatemala in 2011 affirmed that the 2012 date does not portend a catastrophic end of the world -but rather a possible spiritual awakening. There is some dispute about the actual start date of this cycle, and therefore the exact time of inception may be as distant as 2160 AD. The cycle is based upon one-fifth of the Maya Pleiades' Cycle of 26,000 years ( 26,000 / 5 = 5200 years) which is the Maya Cycle of the Precession of the Vernal Equinoxes (25,920 years in Vedic astronomy).

The Maya have taken center stage because many fear the supposed end date of their calendar marks the end of the world. Most of this information comes from non-Mayans and it is not accurate…the Maya’s message is simple: “Our actions have created a world out of balance that must be rebalanced immediately in order for us to avoid more suffering…to humans and to all life.”

Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala

To my brothers and sisters around the world:

In the name of the Heart of the Heavens and the Heart of the Earth, greetings from Guatemala and the National Council of Elders Mayas, Xinca and Garifuna.

I, Wakatel Utiw, “Wandering Wolf,” Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, humbly offer this message to you. I speak now of what we see happening in the world today. According to the Maya Calendars we are living in the time of the 13 Baktun and 13 Ajau. This is a time that comes accompanied with great pain. We are seeing a series of events approaching us as never seen before, these events come charged with tremendous sufferings and pain. They will happen in different places. They will touch us equally, men and women, old and young, indigenous or non-indigenous.

All this is due to the contamination. The atmosphere has lost its control. We the Maya see it with much sadness that we will see hunger and drought. Plagues will invade the fields and affect the agriculture; new illnesses will appear and will be difficult to cure. The sun rays are getting stronger and stronger as time goes by.

Our recommendation to avoid more suffering is this: No more nuclear testing, no more wars, no more mining and other explorations, no more use of chemicals. This is the only way the human race, the animals and the ancient trees could survive and see the new Sun*. If we do not change, few will be the ones to survive and see the arrival of the 6th Sun.

Let’s reconcile with our Creator and our Mother Earth, each one in our own way. For us the Maya will be with our Sacred Fire.

Respectfully,

Wandering Wolf

*Note: RE: “Sun.” Contrary to popular belief the living elders of the Maya do not agree that December 21, 2012 is the end of their calendar. A new “Sun” represents the beginning of a new Long Count cycle in the calendar system of approximately 5,200 years, which they say may not happen for many years.

The National Council of Elders Mayas, Xinca and Garifuna offers prophetic insights – and grave warnings – regarding the many natural and manmade disasters occurring now. According to the Mayan calendar, they say we are entering times of great pain if humanity doesn't immediately change its destructive behavior and restore balance to the planet. The elders spoke up to warn humanity because there is much misinformation, being spread mostly by self-proclaimed elders, gurus and pseudo scientists. Many of them do this for their own personal gain, to exploit the name of the Maya or to spread fear that the world is going to end in 2012. Many think that the Maya are an extinct civilization even though there are over 10 million living Maya, mostly in Central America and southern Mexico. They are led by a council of elders who meet and confer regularly on local and global affairs. Among other things, the Maya are known for their advanced calendar system, astronomical science and their surprisingly accurate prophecies. Remarkably, they have preserved much of their ancestors’ wisdom through an oral tradition, in spite of the Spanish conquest and centuries of foreign domination and interference. Now, the National Council of Mayan Elders in Guatemala has a message for the world. Through their leader, Wakatel Utiw, “Wandering Wolf,” also known as Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, they offer: “2012 is not the end of the world, nor did we ever predict that it would end: not now, not at the end of our Long Count calendar, not on December 21, 2012. Do not trust self-proclaimed elders, gurus and pseudo scientists who for their own personal gain create fear in the name of the Maya.”

Far from being a date on a calendar when something will automatically happen, the elders are telling us that it is up to us how we traverse these challenging times. “The new Sun will come, but if we don’t change our destructive and disharmonious ways, many may not see it,” they warn. “We are not powerless over something happening to us; we are happening to the Earth and to each other,” Wandering Wolf offers in his empowering teachings. Our actions have created a world out of balance that must be rebalanced in order for us to avoid more suffering…to humans and to all life.

The Mayan Elders believe that their culture is poorly understood by non-Mayans whose interpretations are therefore very misleading. We have to use critical thinking when interpreting the sensationalist messages which have flooded the media and the Internet. Indeed, every non-Mayan researcher and writer owes their work to the Maya; however, the Maya rarely speak about themselves, until now. You can read Wandering Wolf’s address to the world in the attachment and here: www.ShiftoftheAges.com/maya-message-2012.

Wandering Wolf also partnered with a California company, Positive Purpose Productions (P-Qubd LLC) to create a feature-length documentary called Shift of the Ages, which is to be released in early 2012. Shift of the Ages will be their first official discourse to the world.

Wakatel Utiw, which means “Wandering Wolf.” He is also called Grandfather Cirilo, or just “Tata,” which means “Grandfather” in the Mayan language. Wandering Wolf is the leader of the National Council of Elders Mayas, Xinca and Garifuna of Guatemala, Day Keeper of the Mayan Calendar, 13th generation Quiche' Maya Spiritual Leader, a founder and Grand Elder of the Continental Council of Elders & Spiritual Guides of the Americas, an international lecturer on Maya culture, and an Ambassador in the Guatemalan government who represents the rights and wishes of the indigenous pueblos and people.

The Cycle of the Precession of the Vernal Equinoxes around the zodiac is not a major changeover of cosmic epochs; yet the Avenue of Ram-headed sphinxes at Carnac in Egypt certainly proves that the priest-scientists of the Nile Valley ascribed some importance to the change-over from one zodiac sign to another. Indeed, Schwaller de Lubicz, who devoted his lifetime to fathoming the mystery of Egyptian symbolism, found definite periods of decline and degeneration in workmanship and science during the vernal time periods that corresponded with Cancer and Gemini which produced wet and cold climatic conditions.

We are living in the time when the minute-hand of the cosmic clock is pointed to Pisces (wet), while the hour-hand has recently entered Aries (hot). During the time of 2012-2160 AD, the hour-hand will remain in Aries while the minute-hand will move into Aquarius whose nature is cold. The combination of Aries (hot) and Aquarius (cold) strikes a balance, however food production will possibly be curtailed and global over-population will be checked. World governments should prepare for these eventualities by  reinstituting self-sufficient communities which grow and create all the things necessary for their independent livelihood and survival.

Cosmic myth defines the history of the great eras of the Galactic Cycle. It is this myth and history which gives meaning to the regions of the zodiac. The Galactic myths of Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius will have a subtle influence upon our entry into the Vernal era of Aquarius. The myths and history of this period include Adam and Eve, Night and Ocean, and Atlas and Saturn. In general, the Thema Mundi of these periods is one of the advancement of astronomy and the natural sciences. The citizens of the world will turn to a new appreciation for our garden planet.
